What we do with public posts, and how to opt out · Last updated 25 October 2026
What Who Played does
Producers send their unreleased music to DJs and use Who Played to find out when it gets played. We check public posts for the sound of the tracks they registered, and when one is found we show that producer a link to the public post.
A producer may share a private page with the plays of their own tracks with a label, a booker or press. It shows your public name, the date and a link to the public post, never your picture, and is kept out of search engines. If you opt out, you are removed from every such page.
We never log in to your account, never see anything private, never post, comment or message on anyone’s behalf, and never keep copies of your videos: each one is listened to once and the file is deleted. The only exception is a small set of short audio samples kept for at most 90 days to test that our recognition is accurate.
What you can ask of us
- Stop watching your account and stop showing your posts in results from now on.
- Delete the profile picture we keep so producers can recognise the right account.
- See what we hold about you, or have it corrected: write to hello@whoplayed.me.
We stop watching an account within two working days of a request, answer every request within 30 days, and never ask why.
Opt out
To stop us watching your account, email hello@whoplayed.me with your account (@yourname or a link to your profile). We may ask you to confirm the account is yours, for example with a message from it, so nobody can opt out someone else.
Copyright complaints
If you believe a producer registered a recording on Who Played that belongs to you, tell us with the form below, or send a notice to our designated agent: Who Played, Inc., Copyright Agent, HaHaskala Boulevard 17 B, Tel Aviv 6789037, Israel, hello@whoplayed.me. We review every complaint, may suspend the recording while we do, remove it if the complaint holds, and tell the producer who registered it. Accounts that repeatedly register material that is not theirs are closed.
Counter-notice. If your recording was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, send a counter-notice to the same agent, as described in section 8 of our Terms. We pass it to the person who complained, and may restore the recording after 10 to 14 business days unless they tell us they have gone to court.
